Kathy O’Dell
Art Historian, Critic, Educator (BCAG Board Liaison to the A&E Advisory Board)
Kathy O'Dell, PhD, is an art historian, critic, and educator who retired in 2022 after thirty years as a faculty member and administrator at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). A resident of Catonsville, she is active in the arts on local, regional, and statewide levels. For the Baltimore County Arts Guild, she co-chairs the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and liaises to the Advisory Board for the Catonsville Arts District. In Baltimore City, she sits on the Board of Trustees at Maryland Art Place (MAP), co-chairing their Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee. Regionally, she was a long-time Board member of the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance (GBCA), where she continues to serve on their Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion Committee, as well as on their Urban Arts Leadership Program's (UALP) Advisory Council. Previously a member of the Maryland State Arts Council, she is currently Chair of the Maryland Public Art Commission.
